Board of Education

The Guardian Angel Orthodox Day School Board of Education is a ministry of St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church and is organized for the purpose of providing guidance to and oversight over the operation of Guardian Angel Orthodox Day School in accordance with the mission of the school.

In addition, the board shall provide guidance to the school in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, which require that private schools provide a course of instruction that fits into the general scheme of education established by the state.

Members of the Board have the following responsibilities:

To support the mission of the school

To recommend the hiring or dismissal of school personnel to the Parish Council

To recommend and establish policies and procedures for the operation of the school, as the Board has the right of final authority regarding all student decisions

To provide guidance in the establishment of the overall curriculum of the school

To recommend a budget for the operation of the school to the Parish Council

To maintain high levels of integrity and confidentiality

To attend monthly meetings and participate in the committee work of at least one committee
